Isn't this depressing.
This is from Deus Ex, a computer game about dystopian future, made in 2000;And this is from Chicago Police Department, about seven years later;
Depressing, isn't it? If I just saw those texts without logos, I couldn't tell which was a game and which was reality.
There's a claim that Homeland Security Department is nothing less than a secret police.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like your new design.
The differences are pretty obvious. Deus Ex says that one should look out for "strangers and foreigners", the nearest the BSD bulletin has to this is "presence of individuals who do not appear to belong in workplaces, ...", which is not the same thing. Nothing in the BSD incriminates an "argumentative" person, nothing is mentioned about personal politics. The BSD doesn't even incriminate arms acquisition per se (since it's still a constitutional right in the US), merely "improper attempts" (by fraud, the black market, etc.).
ReplyDeleteThe closest connection between the Deus Ex and the BSD versions is Deus Ex's last point about taking photos of major landmarks, and even here the BSD singles out "key facilities" (the NSA headquarters) as opposed to major landmarks (Mt. Rushmore).
Let's be vigilant, but not blindly paranoid, shall we?
